Week 7 The End Is Here!

Okay, let start off easy. The end of the book could be considered a huge let down to some, other could see it as unfinished, and other still could see it as a climax to the novel that brought it to a decisive finish. What do you think of the end of The Road? Is the death of the father necessary to illustrate the point of the cruel society they find themselves in? If so why? If not how would you have changed the ending? Next what was your opinion of the story as a whole, including the bizarre diction of McCarthy( included examples). Finally what is the significance of the little boy leaving his fathers body and going off with total strangers? How does this also help to show the difference between their world and ours? This is our last post so don't end it with a weak one. Since it's all over now never mind posting to this one great post though James.

Week 6 ...Survival of the hungriest

Food is one of the most basic necessities of life. To sustain oneself is a universal need that all must meet in order to survive. But what if there was nothing to eat... that is except each other? How would you handle yourself in a world like this? Would you starve and yourself be eaten? Would you try to find your food and live off what little scraps you could obtain? Or would you do the unthinkable, throw away your morals and values and become a monster that in our society is despised? In a world where it's kill or be killed could you do it, are you strong enough, are you insane enough, but the real question becomes are you hungry enough?

Week 5 The Bond of The Damned

The father and son share a bond closer than any we've come across thus far. They shared alot from the end of society to the death of the mother. Do you think their lifestyle makes them closer or pushes them apart than if this whole thing had never happened? Give specific examples from the story that support your opinion and disprove the other side.

D block blog question

With this type of novel there is always the possibility that this could forshadow a possible future for mankind or even act as a warning for now and for tommorow, such as with Geogre Orwell's 1984. What do you think could have gone wrong with the world our protagonists live in, how could anyone have prevented it, and do you think it's a real possibility for a future of our own? Relate to 1984. Find quotes that justify your reasoning
