My Question is "How does the diction of the novel, the lack of qoutation mark and such, express a feeling of urgency and loss?"

My Question is "From the first 25 pages what can you conclude will happen in the future of the book? Where is the book heading?

After reading to page 25, share your thoughts on the following prompts.

1.) Explain how you feel about Cormac McCarthy's writing style and diction and provide a few quotes to support your response.

"You forget what you want to remember and you remember what you want to forget." (page 12)

2.) This quote is true for most people, how does this quote relate to your life? Give specific examples to back up your answere.

(Adam Hart’s questions quote provided by D block’s blog)

In the first 25 pages the book seems to be moving very slow and the characters do not talk very much at all. They have only each other and no one else, they cannot trust anyone. What would you do if you were in a situation like this? Where does the boy and his father find the will power to survive and keep moving on? Who seems to be taking care of who, physically and emotionally?

I think my question would be: "would you seek out comfort in others or try to live alone knowing that other people meant less supplies/time for yourself?"

In the first twenty-five pages, nothing too major has happened. We’ve met the characters and we know that they’re on a journey on “the road” because it is assumed that no one else is alive. So, my question for the first twenty-five pages is, If the man has two bullets in his gun, why won’t he turn them on the boy and himself so that they don’t have to suffer. If they are the “only two left” then what’s the point of going on?

My question is "do you think that our current world could potentially construct a mirror image to the book, or come close to it? What could happen in our day and age to create a world such as this?"

My question is "Do you believe there is any evidence of foreshadowing in the first 25 pages?"

"What do you think keeps the father and son going?"

CASEY PIPES

The first twenty five pages of "The Road" does not go into to much detail or description about the characters or setting. My question would be, What would keep your will to live persistent? , what would push you to prevail instead of give up in a desolated world?.....

As the book goes on will things be more difficult as the Man and boy go more south.

My question is Why is the book called "The Road"? What is the author getting at when he talks about the road?
