I can personally say that The Road movie sounds like a great idea, but only if done in the correct way and by not editing anything out. As for the choice of actors/actresses I can see it and think while it is a bizarre casting, it does make sense. I can't wait for the trailers and the release date.

I feel the movie could go either way. It could be an amazing movie or it could be a total flop. If done with the right acting i feel it could be a great movie. The cast is indeed an odd cast but i think it will give a true to book feel. I also want to see the trailer to see if the movie will be as good as i hope.

Personally I hate this book. I have seen Cormac McCarthy's book turned into movie "No Country For Old Men" and I loved it. That’s why I hope for a movie version of "The Road", while reading this novel I have been trying to figure out how the movie would be. So far in the book everything is boring and repetitive. For all i know a movie adaptation may be good because movie adaptations of books are usually a lot different from the books to look better. I have looked at the imbd page about the movie and i have never heard of the director so that is kind of a turn off for me cause i cant compare and contrast his past movies. Then there are many famous actors and actresses which i know so that gives me some hope. Adam Hart

I hate reading and usually I still do agree with the saying "The book is always better" but in this case I think the harsh environment can be displayed and depicted better in a film do to a motion picture and special effects.

I think that a movie on the road will be to much like I am Legend. If they were to make a movie of the road i think that the characters would have to be carefully chosen. For the main Characters I would pick someone who shows dominance and leadership for the older man. The actor i would pick would be Samuel L. Jackson. For the younger boy i would pick the younger sixth sence boy.

Yeah the casting seems pretty cool for the movie. The dad is Aragon from Lord of the Rings is going to be in the movie and I liked him in those movies. I’m hoping its not all cgi created and hope it’s realistic. After I’m done reading this book I’m hoping that they don't edit out key scenes. Because after reading the kite runner and then seeing the movie there was a big let down in the movie because it wasn’t in the key details like the book was. I'm hoping the release dates come out soon and the trailers.

After reading the first half of The Road I think that it would make a great movie. It could relate to the movie I Am Legend with the end of the world type of themes. The choice of actors and actresses seems to work well with the movie. The actor that plays the father has been in some famous movies so that may draw people into watching this.

I believe that The Road movie does sound like a goood idea. However if the movie does not follow the book, closely i do not think it worth the time to go and see. As long as the movie does the book justice i think The Road movie will be a great idea.

The Road movie looks like a great film and a big hit in movie theatres all across America. I believe good casting of characters is vital to the film's success. I also believe the film will have much success just like Beowulf and The Kite Runner and I can't wait to see how it compares to the book

I'm not so sure how good of an idea of the movie of The Road would be. In the book the characters do not even have names and they do not speak very much. I think in the movie the audience might get a little confused on who is speaking and who exactly they are speaking to. If the movie was to be made it would be a very dark and gloomy movie. The characters would have to seem worn out and rugged looking.

I think "The Road" is an alright book so far. However, I believe the movie will be a lot better than the book because it is easier to show what is going on rather than telling. I think the movie will make "The Road" a lot more famous than the book. The casting however, will either make or break this movie idea.

I think that the movie version of The Road will turn out to be really well done. Most of the time, people say that the movie won’t be as good as the book, but in this case I think that they will be pretty equal. I believe this because it is such a strange and dark book that it may be easier to understand. Also, I could not think of a better person to play “the man,” other than Viggo Mortensen.

A movie version of the road in my eyes could potentially be an extreme success with the right actors, and directors. Alot of times the book and the movie seem to drift far apart by the time the movie comes out, and the original theme is changed too much. As long as the movie is similar to the book, and can create a similar dark feel, it could be really interesting, and effective.

In my opinion i feel as if "The Road" would not be a good choice to make a movie of.It would be too hard to make it interesting and not boring, i feel like movie critics would rip it apart and give it a bad rating, but if i was to pick any actors it would be "Russel Crowe" as the father and tha kid from "Big Daddy" as the son.

I think that if they were to make a movie about the Road it would be a very good movie. I would definetly go to see it. I think Tom Cruise would do a great job as the father because the role is similar to his role in War of the Worlds.
